There are so many stories about a future of deprivation, sacrifice and terror that are told and retold in various ways in our society. If we envision a different, more hopeful future, it could be a self-fulfilling prophecy. A sustainable future could be one of abundance, health and community if we redesign our society the right way.
But what does a sustainable future look like and how do we get there? This is a question I'd like to explore through an on-line dialogue.

I agree, we should visualize a green future, but we shouldn’t freeze like a deer in the headlights thinking about it. Just as a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, we need to focus on the low hanging fruit: CFL's, insulation, high mileage vehicles and choosing a pedestrian friendly town with mass transit. My wife and I vowed to be carbon neutral ten years ago, and it has pretty much taken that long. And we are not quite there yet. Let's not get discouraged, and not stop moving forward.
